Boarding
Student Accommodation and Dining
There are four separate student residences on campus. Although academic classes are co-educational, boys and girls live separately. All bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped; students share with others of a similar age and, whenever possible, a different nationality so that English is the language of communication. Wash basins are in most rooms, showers and toilets are located in residence corridors.
Each House has a Common Room where students meet in their free time to watch television, play games, read or talk about their day with friends and a kitchen where they can prepare light refreshments and snacks. The school places emphasis on positive relationships, international understanding, and mutual respect.
Laundry
Alexanders international School has a free laundry service to wash students’ clothing. It is very important that all clothing is marked with their name and that it is suitable for machine washing and tumble-drying. A dry cleaning service is available locally but charges for this service would be applied to the Student School Expenses account.Meals
Served in the school’s spacious dining room our experienced team of chefs create an interesting, nutritious and varied menu of meals for students three times a day. Meals include fresh salads, vegetables, fruit and desserts. There is plenty of choice, including Vegetarian cuisines, so that we can provide meals for the needs of all of our students.
Pastoral Programme
We want to help students to adjust to boarding school life in a safe and friendly environment. Our student residences provide a carefully structured family atmosphere which helps students to get used to life in a boarding school quickly.
Staff are responsible for the care and welfare of all students on campus. Each residence is run by a resident Head of House who helps students settle in and ensures that their stay at Alexanders is a happy one. Residences are carefully supervised by a caring and supportive pastoral staff who work with the Head of House to monitor each individual and ensure that the appropriate level of supervision is maintained at all times.
Parents are able to contact the School and through the School, student residences. Telephone and Wi-Fi internet access in the Clocktower Building make it easy for students to stay in touch with home. If parents wish to contact their child we ask that except in an emergency, calls be received when students are not in class.
